Technology Adoption in Food Supply Chain Management in Developing Countries: A Review

Food loss and waste is one of the major reasons for global food insecurity. losses occur at all stages supply chain, including agricultural produce, harvesting, transport, storage, processing. are exacerbated by a lack adequate effective chain management (FSCM). An (FSC) includes designing processing distribution centres, managing cold reverse logistics. It also functions like allocating warehouse storage capacity, vehicle routing material flow issues, delivery scheduling, inventory issues. Adoption new information technology such as big data Internet Things can improve FSC performance have significant impact on reducing loss. system sharing enhance FCC performance, intelligence in automated retail ordering prevent spoilage, while machine learning, blockchain traceability. However, there several obstacles to use FSC, particularly developing countries. These classified technical, financial, social, operational, educational, governmental. This paper provides an in-depth review existing literature applications improving FSCM, key challenges associated with adoption, interventions that may help overcome these challenges. adds especially issues related adoption countries, useful resource students, researchers professionals.
